The US state Department resumes, despite the “shutdown”

The U.S. Department of state today, January 17, called on staff of the Department in the United States, including those outside to return to work despite the suspension of financing of work of state institutions since the end of 2018, reports the Hill.

The state Department noted that the Department despite the current situation needs to continue to fulfill its mission.

“As an Agency related to national security, the state Department must continue to fulfill its mission. We can best do this when in the embassies, consulates and domestic authorities employees work in full”, – stated in the message.

The Department also state that they take steps to find additional funds for financing the work of employees. It is projected that the majority of workers will return to work on 22 January, and some — 20 January 2019. The state Department is willing to pay for the labor team for the second period of 2019, and intends to find funding to pay for the following periods.

The so-called “shutdown” of the work of the U.S. government has continued for 27 days due to disagreement of the Democratic party and President Donald trump on financing the construction of the wall on the us-Mexican border to prevent the mass from entering the U.S. the flow of illegal migrants.
