The Russian government has extended counter-sanctions against the West until the end of 2018

Until December 31, 2018 extended to the food embargo imposed on Western countries. Restrictions extended by the decision of the Russian government after the corresponding decree of the head of state.

According to the decree, published on the website of the Cabinet on 5 July, the Russian government is extending the food restrictions against Western countries until 31 December 2018. The decision was adopted in pursuance of the presidential decree of 30 June.

The reason for the extension of the contracti was the renewal of restrictions by Western countries against Russia.

“The ban on the import into Russia of certain agricultural products, raw materials and food extended from 1 January to 31 December 2018”, — the document says.

Kontrsanktsii Russia include a series of response measures, and apply to individual countries based on their participation in the anti-Russian sanctions, noted in the document.

“The restrictions are aimed at the proliferation of special economic retaliation into separate States based on the extent of their involvement in the sanctions regime against Russia,” reads the text of the resolution.

Under the ban of the import into Russian territory fall certain types of agricultural products, raw materials and food from US, EU, Canada, Australia, Norway, Ukraine, Albania, Montenegro, Ireland and Liechtenstein.

Following the extension by the EU of the Statute of limitations against Russia has signed the decree about prolongation of the response was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
