Authorities have arrested a man who they said held 50 people hostage aboard a Greyhound bus late Friday night.

The incident began shortly before 10 p.m. Central time when the bus was heading from Milwaukee to Chicago. One of the passengers called 911 and said a man armed with a gun, threatened to kill people on the bus, said the County Sheriff’s office Racine, Wisconsin.
Authorities tracked down the bus on the South-Eastern direction of the route 94 and tried to stop him, but the bus had to cross state lines and ended up in Illinois. Then the bus stopped in Wadsworth.

Lieutenant Zuerlein Rory (Rory Zuerlein) from the County Sheriff’s Department Kanosh said “Daily Herald” that the passengers left the bus after it stopped and that the police planted people in the patrol car.

Authorities said no one was hurt and the investigation continues.

Authorities have not revealed the name of the suspect, nor the reasons why he held people hostage. Also not clear yet how long he kept the passengers, and under what circumstances the suspect surrendered to authorities after the bus reached the Illinois.
