Criticized the state Secretary of the foreign Ministry and the “barbaric crimes against homosexuals in Chechnya”, calling for their objective investigation.

The state Minister of the German foreign Ministry, Michael Roth has made critical remarks about Russia, ignores the undertaken in the framework of Council of Europe obligations.

The diplomat mentioned a few facts, speaking Friday in Nicosia at the 127th session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

“Situation of human rights in Crimea, annexed by Russia in violation of international law, as well as in the separatist-controlled regions in Eastern Ukraine still give cause for great concern. It’s time to provide the Commissioner for human rights and other monitoring institutions of the Council of Europe unlimited access to these regions,” said Roth .

The same thing, he noted, applies to other territories to which the Council of Europe and don’t have access to so far: whether Abkhazia and South Ossetia belonging to Georgia, Transnistria or Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding seven districts of Azerbaijan.
