“Two su-34 was from the sea and collided in the air. The crew of the aircraft managed to eject. The fate of both crews is still unknown,” — said the source.

He stressed that the emergency incidents happened “about an hour ago.”

The data about a possible plane crash is far different: according to preliminary data, one of su-34 bombers disappeared from the radar. There is also information that two fighters might encounter in the air.

As RIA Novosti reported with reference to an informed source, a crash could occur over the Tatar Strait between Sakhalin and Khabarovsk Krai. Pilots, according to preliminary information, was able to safely eject.

A source in emergency services told Interfax that along with missing from the radar of the su-34 flew another five boards. He also confirmed that the pilots of both aircraft managed to eject.

Meanwhile later, the defense Ministry has officially confirmed that two su-34 in the far East touched each other in the air.

“On January 18 at 8:07 Moscow time, when performing routine training flight over the sea of Japan in 35 miles from shore in the course of the maneuvering has occurred in the touch down of two su-34 the far Eastern Association air force and air defense”, – reads the statement of the Russian military.
