The court upheld the expulsion of Saakashvili in Poland in 2018

The Supreme court of Ukraine dismissed the cassation complaint of the former President of Georgia, former head of the Odessa regional state administration of Mikheil Saakashvili’s case for his claim to the state border service, Migration service, Ministry of internal Affairs about a recognition illegal and cancellation of decisions and actions according to his readmission to Poland.
“The plaintiff asked to recognize illegal the actions of these authorities from 12 February 2018 on the implementation of the decision of a competent authority to return the claimant to the country of previous stay. The Supreme court left in force the decision courts of the previous instances that Saakashvili denied the claims” – the press service of the Supreme court on Wednesday in new York Passbook.
The press service noted that the decision was taken during a court session on November 19, the full text of the decision will be prepared within five days.
“The decree comes into force from the moment of its adoption, is final and not subject to appeal”, – emphasized in the Supreme court.
As reported, in July 2017, the fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko by his decree deprived Saakashvili Ukrainian citizenship when he was in the United States.
10 September 2017 Saakashvili crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border, surrounded by their supporters, accompanied by a confrontation with the border guards and police officers. 22 September 2017 Mostyska district court of Lviv region declared Saakashvili, guilty of illegally crossing the border of Ukraine.
12 Feb 2018 Saakashvili, was detained in a restaurant in the center of Kiev, and then transferred to the airport “Borispol” and sent by plane to Poland. The interior Ministry of Ukraine explained that in accordance with the already adopted court decisions Saakashvili was in Ukraine illegally, and because “the observance of all legal formalities have been returned to the country whence came, in violation of domestic law.”

May 28, 2019, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky reversed the decision of his predecessor on depriving Saakashvili of the citizenship of Ukraine. On 29 may, Saakashvili returned to Ukraine.
In early October, Saakashvili said that he intends to complain on Poroshenko to the Prosecutor General for deportation from Ukraine in February 2018.
On 7 October, the Chief military Prosecutor’s office opened criminal proceedings according to the statement of Saakashvili about violent acts and its illegal movement across the state border of Ukraine to Poland in 2018.
