Sberbank drew attention to the important economic issues at the SPIEF-2018

Two days of the St. Petersburg international economic forum is eventful to the limit: plenary meeting with the participation of President Vladimir Putin, dozens of sessions with participation of Federal Ministers and the leaders of big business, hundreds of business meetings.

Every year, high among the participants there are real front man SPIEF officials and businessmen, which attracted all the attention. This year, one of the leaders in activity on the forum, the head of Sberbank German Gref, which again was a pleasant surprise “papoutsi”.

At SPIEF Sberbank-2018 has organized several discussions, going far beyond the banking sector. The first day was the plenary session “the Transit world. What is tomorrow?”. The moderator – Herman Gref put before participants questions, so the discussion was lively. However, the theme of the session is more than relevant: the fracture of a way of life or the transit world, where technology is changing everything. Experts agree: we are moving to reality where artificial intelligence will relieve you from routine, renewable energy sources will displace oil, biotechnology will solve the problem of lack of medicines. Traditional business models are crumbling and transit in the emerging world state-owned companies and government need to learn how not to get lost in the comprehensive digitalization.

“We tried to give a name to the period of time in which we are now, where we live and we called it a transit world. Due to the fact that we have gone from the traditional, comfortable world to which we are accustomed, where we were born, and started regardless of our desire to sail to the world a future that has not been determined yet”, – explained the essence of the concept of “transit world,” the President of Sberbank German Gref. According to him, this is the period when human capabilities are expanded, the benefits can be fairly distributed among all, and the world’s leaders become the country’s bet on digitalization. “Today, 25% of digital’s GDP belongs to the USA and 13% to China,” added Gref.

An expert from Silicone valley, the Executive Chairman of the XPRIZE Foundation Inc Peter Diamandis is convinced that now is the best time, you can live on the planet. “We live in a time when each of us has the computing power that previously was available only to States. Google actually opened the Internet access to information for the whole world, we have access to capital, what has never happened before”, – said the guest of the forum. In turn, Vice-President of Google Inc Meir brand said that over the past went all digital market for further growth cannot be seen limit. Obviously, such drastic changes in such a short time means a radical transformation of business models. “This is a total change in business models. Investment from the traditional sectors is increasingly flowing to digital. Traditional companies do not have time to change their own models for digital companies. This also applies to people. The key problem is that people are still thinking linearly, but change happens exponentially,” – said in a conversation with colleagues Herman Gref. In his opinion, there are three primary goals that should be achieved in order not to lose in this race: the first to come to that, to empower people with new technologies, the second task – protection from threats posed by technology, the third objective – equitable distribution of goods produced inside each society and inside world, between countries. While Gref added that to fulfill these tasks the state institutions is not ready, because between them there is a polarization, and building barriers to a logical digital development. But there is a solution and it announced participating in a session of Deputy Prime Minister for digital development in Maxim Akimov. “The main recipe and the main objective, which is to work in the state mechanism to implement the real adaptability. Technologically more or less clear what to do in the video, including regulatory, data management, investments in people. Project management is an adequate solution. Because the digital revolution is not about IT is about people and about culture,” – said the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government.

The theme of transformation continued the next day at a business Breakfast of the savings Bank “the New economic agenda (NEP): what, how, who” with the participation of government members, deputies, heads of regions. Again acted as a moderator of the dialogue German Gref here has already appealed no longer to the business and the state with the most acute issues. The acceleration of Russia’s economic growth to rates above the world average – is a national goal set by the President, and it is obvious that this growth cannot be achieved without digitalization and implementation of modern technologies in all spheres: education, health, financial sector, the system of public administration. Who and how will implement the new economic agenda? – this question interests all. German Gref noted that the current system of public administration is not efficient enough: Russia occupies 108th place in the index of efficiency of state management according to analysts and the first thing that needs to change if we want rapid economic growth, and change largely with the help of digitization. With the head of Sberbank agreed the guests – first Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova, the head of the chamber Alexei Kudrin.

To the banking market, where Sberbank is one of the best leaders (the company constantly introduces new technologies in their work, for example, agile) technology also faces major challenges in the transit world. According to Gref, the banking sector expects a radical change in the next five years because of changing customer needs, which have to be met. “Now customers are demanding greater speed, remote maintenance and comprehensive services (not just providing money), lack a physical presence in the provision of services and trends to provide the maximum possible spectrum of end services,” — said the head of Sberbank, answering the question “MK” on the sidelines of the SPIEF. He said that the company in March this year launched the online service of lending to small businesses, this service became very popular. “Now small business without appearance anywhere can apply for credit and get a loan. And it can be done at any time of the day. By the way, the results of the analysis of the operation of the service for a month and a half we were surprised: it turned out that about 30% of applications for loans or more than 25 thousand entrepreneurs have applied through online and night. That is, entrepreneurs prefer to spend the main time to work with customers,” added Gref.

Online loans in 24 hours recently entrepreneurs and could not imagine that this is possible. However, this service is just one of the digital tools that simplify life. These assistants of a person at work and in everyday life become robots: many leading companies are already using artificial intelligence for many types of work, but robotics can more. For example, replace the hands and feet of the person who have lost limbs. Opportunities robotics was demonstrated at the evening session on “Robots-the reliable helpers of the people”, organized by Sberbank. People with disabilities want to move, to travel, to do sports: active bionic prostheses of arms and legs, exoskeletons, interfaces brain-computer wheelchairs for mobility and other wonders of modern science make this possible.
