Russia has not agreed to support the “Easter truce” in the Donbass

During a 6-hour Skype conference of the Trilateral contact group, the Ukrainian side was unable to convince Russia to support the “Easter truce” in the Donbass.

Also, the aggressor refused to take the responsibility for the observance of silence in the Donbass, said the Vice-speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament and Ukraine’s representative to the Humanities subgroup of the TAG Irina Gerashchenko.

According to her, Russia’s representative to the TAG Gryzlov never showed up. Russia was represented by the diplomat Kulmuhamedov.

“Russia refused to undertake to ensure observance of the regime of silence, once again repeating the Kremlin’s theses on “the civil war, an internal conflict” and the need for “direct dialogue” with ORDA. Russia is not changing its tactics and race in Ukraine and their possible consequences does not make it flexible”, – said Gerashchenko.

Another representative of Ukraine in THC Yevhen Marchuk accused the Kremlin, in particular its leader, Vladimir Putin, who “is not interested in de-escalation and end to the war in the Donbas.”

“Easter truce” was supposed to start April 19 noon.
