Putin and Poroshenko had a long phone talks

The presidents of Russia and Ukraine Vladimir Putin and Petro Poroshenko held telephone talks. This was reported by Ukrainian mass media with reference to the press service of the presidential administration of Ukraine. It is reported that the conversation was long and was timed to the third anniversary of Minsk.

As reported by the Ukrainian edition “Mirror of week” with reference to the source, February 12 telephone conversation between the leaders of Russia and Ukraine. The conversation between Vladimir Putin and Petro Poroshenko was longstanding and was devoted to Ukrainian prisoners, said the interlocutor of the edition.

Later this information was confirmed by the press service of the presidential administration of Ukraine.

“The talks focused on the issue of revitalizing the liberation of the Ukrainian hostages, in particular the exchange of prisoners of guards and the liberation of the Ukrainian military in the occupied territories”, – told reporters on Bankova street.

According to the press service of the Ukrainian leader, during the conversation the presidents also discussed the agenda of the meeting of the foreign Ministers of the Normandy Quartet. The Ministerial meeting will be held on 16 February in Munich.

“A telephone conversation took place in coordination with our European partners on Channel format and American allies,” — said in comments press service.

According to the source, the reason for the talks held at the initiative of the Ukrainian side, was the third anniversary of the conclusion of the second Minsk agreement.
