A leading representative of French Muslims called on the Emmanuel Macron (Emmanuel Macron) not to interfere in the organization of the second largest religion of France, a few days after the President said he will attempt to redefine the relationship between Islam and the state.

The rebuke comes from the leader of the organization, established 15 years ago, in an attempt to defuse the concerns of radical preachers and create a more moderate form of Islam, which is better would correspond to the traditional separation of Church and state Affairs of France.

“Everyone should stick to their role,” – said in an interview with Reuters, Ahmed OGRAS (Ahmet Ogras), President of the French Council of Muslim cult (CFCM).

“Muslim faith is a religion and, as such, take care of his own Affairs. The last thing we want is state custody,” said Ugras, a Frenchman of Turkish origin, who headed the CFCM since mid-2017.

Macron, who was elected in may last year, said in an interview published on 11 February last year that he plans to return to the control of Islam.

“What I would like to do in the first half of 2018, is the definition of the markers all the way in which Islam in France is organized,” he told the magazine “Journal du Dimanche”.
