Retail prices on the Ukrainian pork at the beginning of April has decreased compared to the previous month on average by 3%.
According to the Association, “Breeders of Ukraine” (ACS), pork steak, loin and thigh fell by 3%. Pork neck has lost in price by an average of 2.1%, and at the end of the first week of April was worth 101 UAH/kg.
The price of pork belly and shoulder decreased by about 1%, and the cost of pig meat declined by 3.9% – to UAH 63,5/kg. According to the press service fell not only pork tenderloin, which as at the end of the first week of the current month cost an average of 109.8 UAH/kg. In the PMS added that compared to the same period last year, pork has risen on average by 11.8-22.1 per cent, depending on the meat part.
This is due, primarily, with the growth of purchasing prices for these products, which increased compared to the same period in 2016 an average of 20% . According to the press service, the deviation of the price of pork in connection with the approaching Easter holidays was 7.3%, which is significantly less compared with last year’s festive period.
As reported, according to the Association “Ukrainian club of agrarian business”, in the second half of April is expected to increase in the prices of most animal products. The meat will rise by an average of 7-12%. However, this rise will be short-term, towards the end of April prices stabiliziruemost. National center “Institute of agrarian economy” previously reported that the Easter basket of Easter eggs, cottage cheese, cheese, butter, pork, homemade sausage, bacon and horseradish, this year Ukrainians will cost 377 UAH, which is 8% higher compared to year 2016.
