Thursday, December 20, Permanent mission of Ukraine to the United Nations presented to foreign diplomatic corps and the Secretariat of the UN a book about Ukraine’s membership in the UN Security Council 2016-2017.
This was announced at the Permanent mission of Ukraine to the UN in Twitter.
It is noted that the book contains the speech of the Ukrainian delegation on all issues on the agenda of the UN security Council. The situation in Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, the middle East, the problems of peacekeeping operations, combating terrorism, non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the protection of civilians in conflict.
Separately describes the period of the elections of the new Secretary General of the UN, and also contains a collection of photographs of the most striking moments of the working life of the Ukrainian delegation.
During the two-year membership in the UN Security Council Ukraine has proven the ability to take on global responsibility. Our delegation has been active in considering all the issues discussed in the security Council at the same time contributed to the development of at least 138 resolutions and 46 declarations
– said the permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko.
He also added that at the initiative of the Ukrainian delegation, the Security Council adopted its first resolution on the protection of critical infrastructure from terrorist threats.
