NBU expects further nominal growth of income of labour migrants from Ukraine.
The national Bank of Ukraine estimates, remittances from migrant workers of $11 billion by end of 2018. About it on January 31 during the briefing said the Deputy head of the NBU Ekaterina Rozhkova, reports “Economic truth”.
“Given the current trends, namely the leveling of salaries, the recovery of economic growth and a surplus of the markets of our neighbors to labor, we expect a slowdown in the trends of labor migration,” she said.
At the same time, the NBU expects further nominal growth of income of migrant workers, added Rozhkova.
In 2017 the amount of private money transfers to Ukraine totaled $9.3 billion.
In August 2018, the NBU was called one of the main risks of economic development of Ukraine labor migration.
Estimates of the economic strategy Center, about 4 million Ukrainians are labour migrants. Only in Poland, according to Ukrainian Ambassador in Warsaw, Andrei Deshchitsa, works and lives of more than 1 million Ukrainians.
