Social network Facebook has admitted that he kept open the file with the passwords of its users that were available to employees of the company.

“It caught our attention because our system for entering passwords for masking using methods that make them unreadable” – said in a statement to users.

The company added that no one from outside gained access to passwords and found no evidence of abuse of private user data. Open passwords was discovered during a routine security check in January. The company said that this problem was corrected and the social network will notify users whose passwords have been compromised.
