Autumn in Ukraine local elections be held throughout the state, including the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass and Crimea. The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said during a speech at the Munich security conference.

“Our desire today to hold local elections throughout the territory of Ukraine, including individual districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, in October 2020. I would like to see on the territory of Crimea. But to do that without basic security measures and political conditions violating the Constitution of Ukraine and international standards for democratic elections, it is impossible for us,” he said.

The President noted that today the Russian party informed the world that in 2019 on the temporarily uncontrolled territories of Donbass was issued 125 thousand Russian passports.

“I talked about this in Paris again. People in the Donbass need elections that will be recognized by Ukraine, the whole world, as legitimate. And they can’t be, if held according to Ukrainian legislation, the sounds of gunfire and without control over the Ukrainian border”, – said Zelensky.

The fact that the local elections in Donbass were to occur simultaneously with the voting in Ukraine in the fall, said earlier the Minister of foreign Affairs Vadym Prystayko. This is the perfect option. No illegal formations can not take part in them.
