The holiday also marks the end of pilgrimage to Mecca — the Hajj.
History of Eid described in the Quran — the Holy book of Muslims. According to legend, the prophet Ibrahim in a dream an angel appeared. He gave him the command of Allah to sacrifice son Ismail.
Ibrahim started cooking, but then it was a test from Allah. When the victim was almost brought, Allah saved Ismail. Therefore, sacrifice was replaced by a sheep and prophet Ibrahim was given the safe birth of the second son
The history of the holiday also goes back to the famous story about the attempt of bringing Abraham (in the Qur’an — Ibrahim) his son Isaac as a sacrifice to God.
