According to the report on the website of the Chinese government, quoted by the Agency “Prime”, Minister of land and natural resources Jiang Daming said that this “major breakthrough could lead to a global energy revolution”.

According to him, twenty years of attempts to obtain combustible ice have finally come to fruition in the South China sea, where the mine was discovered 10 years ago, in 2007.

“The international scientific community, — is spoken in the message of the Chinese government, is predicting that gas hydrate is the best replacement for oil and natural gas.”

Note that, according to Chinese estimates, the reserves of combustible ice is equivalent to at least 35 billion tons of oil, which can ensure the country’s needs in fuel for 90 years.

Combustible ice is a frozen natural gas, methane hydrate, one cubic meter contains 164 cubic meters of conventional gas, and with far fewer impurities.

To date, China has already produced 120 thousand cubic meters of combustible ice, they were raised from a depth of 1266 meters in the sea near Hong Kong.
