The final tournament

Yesterday in Zagreb was held the draw for the final tournament of the European championship among 17-year-old.

The Ambassador of the tournament – former FC Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Niko Kranjcar put our team in a challenging company, with the Britain, Holland and Norway.

Could it be better? Could we hit the first basket (there were two, and Ukraine were “planted” in the second) Scotland or Ireland. Could be worse, fetch rivals Italy or Turkey – our neighbors in the shopping cart. Two of them are in the first group – the real group of death.

Read more about the rivals of the team Sergey Popov later. So far, only reject that the British became Champions of Europe among 17-year-old (in this age category for the championship has been played since 2002) in 2010 and 2014, the Dutch – in 2011 and 2012, the Norwegian debutants of final tournament. Our team will participate in the finals for the sixth time. Five previous tournaments were unsuccessful Ukrainians consistently occupied the last place in groups. In the category of U-16 was a little better, including a third place in 1994.

The British and the Dutch have passed the qualifying tournament, beating all their opponents (6 games – 6 wins those and others). The Norwegians were second in qualifying (by the way, in a group with Ukraine, which played a draw – 2:2. First then was the Turks), and then second in the elite round behind taking a mini-tournament in Hungary.

Recall that the final tournament of the European championship 2017 will be held in Croatia on may 3-19.
