Bethanie Mattek-Sands due to injury was unable to finish the second round match of Wimbledon 2017.
American Bethany Mattek-Sands was unable to finish the second round of Wimbledon with a Romanian Sorani of Kirsta. With the score 6:4, 6:7 (4:7) and 15:40 in the first game of the third set Bethany slipped and fell awkwardly on his knee, then began to call for help. Sorana then stepped over the net and asked the medical staff to quickly provide assistance to the competitor. Later doctors claimed Mattek-Sands off the court on a stretcher.

In the third round, Cirstea will play either the Spaniard Garbine Muguruza (14), with either Belgian Yanina Wickmayer .
